The Grief Journey
Helping you through your grief
The Powassan and Area Family Health Team is offering an eight-week education and support program to help you cope with your grief. The group is based on Dr. J. Worden's four tasks of mourning.
The program will cover the following topics:
- The experience of grief: Understanding grief and grieving
- Learning about grief: Normalizing feelings linked with the grieving process
- The seasons of grief – Autumn: Accepting the reality of the loss
- The seasons of grief – Winter: Processing the pain of grief
- The seasons of grief – Spring: Adjusting to a new world
- The seasons of grief – Summer: Keeping a connection while embarking on a new journey
- Grief is not just one emotion. Coping with the feelings that come when grieving
- Reviewing your grief journey and looking ahead
This group is open to anyone dealing with a loss, an end and/or a significant life change. Whether your loss/change/end was recent or some time ago, this group aims to help you work through your grief and foster hope.
