Physician Opportunities

The Powassan and Area Family Health Team Powassan clinic is moving to a new location

We are moving to a new building in 2018 for our Powassan Clinic and will eventually have space for a new physician to join our team.  We will post more when we know our moving date.

New Practice Opportunity - Family Physician

  • Low overhead costs with full administrative support
  • Supported by other health professionals within a team (NP, 2 RPN, SW, RD)

The Family Health Organization (FHO)

Physicians on our team are members of a Family Health Organization (FHO). Based on an agreement with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, the FHO uses a blended payment model, which includes a capitation payment derived from the size of their individual patient roster.

Other special premiums are paid to the physician for several areas of care including preventative care, hospital services, palliative care, home visits, obstetrics and prenatal care.

All patients are rostered to an individual physician. Physicians and our Nurse Practitioner have a schedule for after hour’s clinics provided to our patients by appointment only. Patients will see their Family Physician or the Nurse Practitioner when making an evening appointment. Physicians can refer their patients to any member of our interdisciplinary team.
